I thought I would share a few sketches that I have done lately. None of these are too complex or exhaustive studies. Most of these have been sketched just to keep the hand eye coordination strong and give me a reason to make marks.
When I created the sketch below my goal was to convey the emotion of anger. I don’t know why, it just seemed like an interesting emotion to draw. I think anger can be one of the most strongest emotions we experience as humans. It can be difficult to control and often self-destructive.
This next sketch was a quick sketch with a four color bic pen. The paper is Strathmore Toned Tan. I guess I lost interest at some point.
Ok, more effort definitely went into this one. This time i’m using graphite on Strathmore Toned Gray paper. The person in the photo has been a friend of mine for a number of years. He posted a photo on Facebook and there was something about his expression that pulled me in, I knew I had to sketch it.
I post more sketches soon, right now my belly is screaming for sustenance. Must obey the demands of the body. I hope everyone has a great day, we’ll talk again soon. – MDL
