Unexpected Magic During The Morning Commute…

As I’ve mentioned before I live in a rural area in the Foothills of northwestern North Carolina.  Each weekday I commute about 35 miles south to a nearby town for work.  The drive takes about 40 minutes and takes me through mostly rural farmland.

As commutes go, I consider myself lucky to have such a peaceful and often scenic drive.  I only travel on 2-lane country roads, that I occasionally share with farm machinery, or, the occasional deer.

This photo was taken a few years ago during my morning drive to work.  At that time, I was just beginning to become interested in photography.  This was shot with an inexpensive Canon point-and-shoot camera which was my only camera at the time other than my mobile phone.

There are many technical errors in this photo, however, I still like the image.  I pulled behind a small volunteer fire department to get this shot.  The sun was rising and the morning fog had settled into the valley.  I thought the scene was well worth documenting and a great visual delight to start the day.

Autumn Sunset

I love Autumn, it’s my favorite season.  I like the cool brisk mornings, watching the leaves fall from the trees, seeing the frost laying on the grass and roof tops.  Autumn can also produce some really vibrant sunsets as well.  I shot this one from my backyard yesterday evening with my iPhone.  I just thought I would share it with you guys.
